A Busy Sunday

Today was a whirlwind of productivity! I accomplished about 30 tasks, goals, and assignments. (This includes emailing 3 professors, an old employer, reading/commenting/posting LJs, reading book chapters, an online quiz, clean the bathroom, do laundry, back up my ENTIRE digital photo archive, and many MANY more.)

Since all else is boring, here is something very nifty. A week ago my mom (
martenlyk) said she picked up drawing again, but said what she drew was a surprise. When I was home for the weekend, she revealed what she had crafted. Behold:

A drawing of Ember by my mom

I'm quite impressed by her work. Yes, it is indeed pretty. But then take these little bits into account: while she drew it on bristol paper, the medium she chose was colored pencils. Crayola colored pencils. It was all she had on hand. Fairly impressive considering they don't blend well.

But how's this - she hasn't drawn since she was in high school.

High school. You realize how long ago that was for her? Needless to say, I'm flippin' proud of her - for both picking up the pencil again AND for retaining so much talent. Way to go, mom! Keep up the work!! Don't slow down!!
