Life stuff...
Just noticing I hadn't updated in a bit so here goes...
Philly is great. Aside from a few concerning, recent events (namely a Hazmat incident in my town and this morning some guards for an armored vehicle were killed), I like it a lot up here. The baseball team was winning, there's actually this thing called Fall which I'm finding I like. The weather has slightly cooled, but promises of much cooler weather are in for next week. I really like my apartment, although it seems there is a bit of a dysfunction when it rains. I have annoying upstairs neighbors (Will I ever not?!), and one of them is always locked out. They keep saying they don't have the right keys, but it's been 3 weeks since they moved in. So they yell up to the roommate, which I hear because we've left our windows open since we got here.
I'm still jobless. *sigh* There was a fantastic opportunity that a lot of people were excited for me about, but I haven't heard back and am slowly losing hope. I've applied to a lot of places, a small handful of which I was moderately excited about. Gonna go check out a place after lunch rush. Had what seemed like a promising opportunity at Whole Foods, but I've called the guy back and he was waiting on his boss. I was supposed to hear from him Tuesday or Wednesday...it's Thursday. I've seen a couple instances of inefficient people trying to hire others...its slightly worrisome, but I'm hoping it will work out.
I don't know if I mentioned this in here, but I have a gf. We're doing the long distance thing - she's 10 hours away...in Canada! She came to see me though, for 2 weeks when I first got here. Things are well with her...just a very new experience trying to date over the internet and phone.
