Summary:Future-type sci-fi AU in which Patrick is a scientist being pursued by a corrupt and assassination-happy government that wants to steal the prototype of his new invention for their own nefarious purposes. In a stroke of random good fortune, he ends up hitching a ride on the spaceship Clandestine. Pete, the ship's captain, agrees to take Patrick as far his cargo is going, but when government agents board his ship, he suddenly finds himself more invested in Patrick's plight. Pete enlists the help of his network of friends (most of whom make their living in manners of questionable legality and/or morality) to keep Patrick off the government's radar while they sneak him across the galaxy.
