Band Trip to Tennessee
The Band traveled to Tennessee this past weekend for the game which was really fun.
Friday we were to leave around 3:30. Just as we were getting ready to pull out, I realized that I had forgotten my band shirt. Luckily, Kaci let me get off the bus to run to my dorm and get it. (Thank god Douglas is just a block over from the Band Hall). So as I was running, all the cards fell out of my cardholder. So I had to pick them up off the street. I ran to my room, got my shirt, and took my shoes off to run back. No sooner had I stepped on the bus, had the first bus started to pull off. Kaci and Amamda informed me that I had almost been hit by a car 3 x's.
We stopped at a NC rest area to eat lunch. It was cold...to cold to eat outside, but I did anyway. Got back on the bus and watched Head Over Heels. Love that movie. Then they popped in Gattaca...thank god for Pokemon and Gameboy Color. We finally pulled into the hotel around 9:00 PM. I got my key and bags, and headed up to my room. The band had the whole 4th floor. Brandon finally showed up and so did my other 2 roomies. Allyson texted me and I left with her and Kristen to walk down the main street in Pigeon Forge.
Allyson, Kristen, and I found a go-kart track that was still open. It was AWESOME!! It was wooden and went up in and down in spirals. After getting off, my knuckles felt like they were burning whenever I breathed warm air on them. After that we went to the "Hillbillly Village". It was your basic hillbilly trinket store. Out back they had a simulated hillbilly house. Kristen told Allyson and me to open up the outhouse door. We were a little scared, but I eventually opened it. Then I tried to get them to go into the dark house. LOL. Then we left and found a putt-putt course. I love putt-putt, even though I came in 2nd to Allyson. Then we stopped by the BP and got some hot chocolate and other food items. I got a espresso and it was the best damn espresso I ever had. We went into this Asian Shop for a bit and returned to the hotel. I walked back to my room where one of my roomates was talking to a GA. He was drunk off his ass. I went to Allyson and Kristen's room to eat and hang out and then returned to my room to shower.
THE DRUNK ROOMIE: So when I returned to my room. I came to find 10 people in my room gathered around some guy on the bed. They were taking pictures of him and signing his body with pen and sharpies. It turned out it was one of my roomies. Apparently he had shotgunned 2 beers and had an ass-load of vodka. He was unconscious and I kinda felt bad for him. So..I tried to take a shower and was in the middle of doing so when there was a knock on the door with people asking if he could throw up. So, I got out in nothing but a towel and stood there in my room with 10 band people in there with me. Eventually I got a little tired and called Allyson to see if i could use her shower. So i walked down to her room in my towel, in the freezing cold. At least I got my shower. The rest of my night was spent making sure my roomie wasn't going to die.
Ok...so maybe I didn't feel bad for him at all. LOL.
I woke up the next morning to find out my roomie was ok. He was awake before everyone else. He showed me his arms and I showed him his back. LOL. Then I went and had breakfast with Allyson, I don't know why because we had lunch within that hour. After lunch we went and practiced at Pigeon Forge High School. That was...whatever. We made out way to UT and played the pep rally on the river. There was some drunk old guy who was dancing to Carolina Girls.
So the game was awesome. Even though it was tightly packed and the only thing I heard the whole nite was Cymbal crashes in my ear. I also got hit by one. Half-time was incredible..mostly watching Tennessee. They did Circle Drill and it was just amazing and perfect. I've never seen anything like it. We won by a point! GO COCKS! Afterwards, we ate pizza by the buses and then loaded them to come home. I slept until we stopped at a rest area in SC. Then I fell back asleep and woke up as we were passing the Strom at 5 AM. Walked back to my room in socks and went to sleep.
