i got invited to be in a show!! a non-meca art show at some lawyer place in portland. they pick 10 meca students every year and the rest of the show is other artists i guess. i'm really happy but it makes me wonder why i was picked. there are so many people doing so many much more interesting and cool things at meca, why would they pick me. but they're lawyers not artists...does that mean my art is boring and 'nice' if lawyers are picking it. hmm. i just thought of that. i don't want to make 'nice' art. what they saw of mine and i guess liked was 4 drawings of rocks that i had in the bfa show, one of which was radioactive looking. i don't know. but i'm definetely going to do it. i get to put in two pieces so i'll have to pick which ones. i have a long time, i could even make two pieces just for that. i think they have to be framed...yuck
Congratulations!
Each year Stephen Jordan, a lawyer at a local law firm, puts together an art exhibition called ABC, The Arts and Business Collaboration. Stephen tours the BFA exhibition and selects 10 students to invite into this exhibition. I am writing to inform you that you were selected to participate in this year's show. Below you will find details about the exhibit if you chose to participate.
Thanks,

Please return your Participation Agreement via email, regular mail or facsimile (207) 774-2339 Attention: Debra Trafton no later than December 31, 2005. Submission of work is detailed within the Participation Agreement. Thank you.
We are currently organizing the third annual Arts and Business Collaboration (the "ABC Exhibit"). Last year's event was a great success--over 50 artists participated to display over 100 pieces of art. The ABC Exhibit last year was highlighted by an evening of delightful music, wine, hors d'oeuvres, and about 350 attendees--an interesting medley of business people and artists. The event also received wonderful press coverage.
This year exhibition space is expected to fill up fast, so, if you would like to exhibit your work, please return a signed participation form as soon as possible. For your convenience, a Word copy of the form is attached, and within the body of this e-mail (set forth below) is another copy.
Each artist may exhibit two works. Other details are contained in the participation form. The artists should specify a price for each work, or list as "NFS" (not for sale). Artists are entitled to receive 100% of sales amounts received for their works.
We look forward to another great show!
Very truly yours,
