AtLA Zombie AU: Introduction
I need a title for this project. :| Any suggestions?

Author's Note: This is just an introduction to the zombie!au I mentioned in that earlier post. This is essentially a rewrite of the series' opening and sets the stage for the AU. I'll begin typing up my notes on this universe hopefully by tomorrow.

Long ago the four nations lived in peace. That all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, had the power to stop him. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.
One hundred years passed and my brother and I found the new Avatar- an airbender named Aang. He was young, inexperienced, and oblivious to the Fire Nation’s tyranny. But his arrival brought back something the world had lost long ago: hope for the future.
But as we started our journey to the Northern Water Tribe, a new threat began to spread throughout the Earth Kingdom. A fever that proved to be more deadly than the firebenders we used to fear.
Doctors and healers could not explain the sickness’ origin; spiritual leaders proclaimed that it was punishment from the Spirit World for our transgressions against elemental balance. No matter what we choose to believe, we know that once a person contracts The Fever, they are already dead despite the way their corpses twitch and groan hours later. The dead are merciless, attacking family and neighbors alike in their attempt to feed and spread the disease.
At first, the outbreaks were contained and easily dealt with, but now… Now I wish for the war again. At least there was hope then.
