MUSIC CHALLENGE!!!
You know those music memes where you post the first line from 20 random songs and see who can guess them? Yeah. This is like that, only on steroids. And it's a competition as well. :D
HOW THIS WILL WORK:
1)Below the cut, there are 40 lines from 40 songs that came up on shuffle. They are not always the first lines, but a random line (or lines, depending on the song) from the song.
2) Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to name as many of the songs & artists that you can. The comments will be screened so everyone has a fair chance at guessing.
3) You'll get 5 points for every song title you guess correctly and 5 additional points for naming the correct artist. (As I have a lot of cover songs on my MP3 player, I will make a note beside the given lyrics to alert you it is a cover version)
4)If you can name ALL the songs by the end of the challenge period, you'll receive an additional 25 bonus points. If you can correctly identify all the artists, you'll get yet another 25 bonus points.
5) First person to name all the songs (the artist does not have to be correct) will get 25 bonus points.
6) You'll get 5 bonus points per song if you can also name the album it's from.
7) No cheating by Google searching, please. As I have no way of enforcing this rule, we'll work on an honor system.
8) The challenge is open to anyone and everyone.
THE CHALLENGE WILL END ON MARCH 27, AT 11:59:59 PM, EASTERN STANDARD TIME. I will calculate the totals and post the results on March 28th.
SO WHAT DO I GET IF I WIN?
Good question. The prizes are as follow:
*1st place can request one fic of at least 2000 words (or two of at least 1000 words each) for any fandom I'm a part of (pairings don't matter) OR a full length AMV for any song (from the following fandoms: Star Trek [TOS, movies 1-6, and XI), Avatar the Last Airbender, Digimon [seasons 1-3], 07-Ghost, The Big Bang Theory, Watchmen)(pairing doesn't matter)
*2nd place can request a fic of at least 1000 words for any fandom I'm a part of (pairings don't matter) OR a mini-AMV of at least one minute for any of the fandoms listed above
*3rd place can request a fic of at least 750 words OR a mini-AMV of at least 30 seconds
*4th place can request a ficlet of at least 500 words
*5th place can request a drabble (anywhere from 100-250 words)
