I'm with you, only I would like to advance the idea to include ALL advertising. Give me a Cable Box or such that I can choose "yes" or "no", to mute specific programing!!

I'm getting around 10 political calls per day right now. Thank God for caller ID.

I don't have caller ID, but the first thing my answering machine does is play the sequence of tones that signals that the number is no longer in service. Then there's a pause before I leave my "leave a message" speech. As soon as a computer dialer hears the tones, it hangs up and takes that number off its list. Saves getting up to answer the phone unless someone I know is leaving a message.

Then there are the stupid recorded callers who just blast through no matter what. Those I still have to kill manually ;/
