i went camping this weekend, it was wet, but fun. We went to mt rainier and hiked up to camp muir, which is one of the cooler hikes ive done, i think also the highest elevation wise. It had a 4800 elevation gain and ended up at something just above 10,000 feet. I dont think ive done that much hiking in snow before. Sadly, there was tons of fog, the whole way up and we couldnt see a thing. We relied on a compass and a map to make sure we werent walking off any cliffs :p. But just as we got to the camp, we got above the clouds and could see the top and also some of the surrounding area. On the way back down, we busted out the trash bags and slid down on our butts which was wayyy too much fun... and also about 4 times faster. Just ass wegot off the snowfield part of the hike, it started to rain... which was fun, until we got back to the campsite and everything was soaked... oh well... still fun overall... i wanna climb all of rainier someday..
