Anyone have an iBook or know about this problem?

I had my iBook asleep, and then I went to wake it up this morning, and it made all the right noises, but the screen remained black. I turned off the computer, turned it on again, waited for it to start up, and the screen was still black, so I turned it off again.

So now I'm using my stepmom's machine, which I rather hate, although the eyestrain isn't so bad now that I Windexed the inch-thick layer of dirt off the monitor ...

Please don't die on me, little iBook!

ETA: After checking out the Apple Support forums, it appears that I could have a logic board failure, i.e., it's not my fault. I have, however, had the iBook for 3 1/2 years, and it is no longer under warranty. Apple Care will charge me $350 to send in my computer for repair. Bastards.

I'm thinking maybe I could take it to the big computer store in Mayfield Heights that has an Apple department. I think they said something about being a certified repair place when I was there last fall ... if anything, I would save $12 on shipping ... and maybe I wouldn't have to pay $50 for over-the-phone troubleshooting from Apple. Yeah. $50. Bastards!!
