Some things never change

I had one of those "Well, that was totally pointless" moments this afternoon.

Around 3 PM, my manager comes and says he needed me for about five minutes. At first, I thought we were going to introduce ourselves to the new people who will be coming to our department once they complete training. "Nope." Then we started heading in the direction of the Vice President, and for a moment I thought I was going to get the same award I received last year. I got shot down quick to that, too.

No, I went into an office of someone I've never seen before, and was advised my title is changing.
Currently, I am a Team Leader. My title will become "Team Leader/Process Manager".

My responsibilities won't change. My compensation won't change. They just wanted me to know for when I saw the updated title on our directory and such.

Like you couldn't have just sent a friggin' e-mail to notify me?

Another shining example of logic and my company not exactly seeing eye-to-eye.
