Never a dull moment.....
Yesterday before we left for the Ren Faire, I had seen a black cat go flying out of our next-door neighbor's fenced yard and up a 20-foot telephone pole after encountering a big dog. Almost as soon as the cat got to the top of the pole, it appeared he/she slipped off the pole and landed the fenced yard behind us. I went to see if the cat was OK, but it was nowhere to be found.
Blackie got out yesterday morning. Blackie didn't come home last night after we got home. When he finally came home tonight, he was not putting any weight on his left hind leg. I think it's safe to say it was Blackie who took the swan dive off the telephone pole.
A trip to the animal hospital revealed no broken bones, so the vet thinks it's a muscle sprain or tear. He was in pain at first, so now he's doped up on pain killer and he's resting (I think) comfortably in the closet. If he doesn't show any improvement in putting weight on his leg in the next few days, we'll need to take him to our regular vet, and go from there. ****Sigh**** Silly cat. I guess he realizes now he's not SuperCat, and isn't able to leap tall buildings in a single bound..... well, going up isn't the problem, it's the landing. He's grounded for a while.
At least I was able to watch the Phillies while at the animal hospital. On one hand, it's a shame the game got suspended in the middle of the 6th inning because of the rain, as it would have been awesome for the Phils to win it all..... but because yumemitai's mom doesn't want to go back when the game resumes, she asked me if I wanted to take the seat!!!! YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!
yumemitai, you ROCK!!!!, and THANK YOU!!!!!!! :-) See you whenever they decide to resume the game. I'll call to arrange a meet time in the event they do play tomorrow night.
The Renaissance Faire was a lot of fun, and it was good to see lostsatyr and ravensdaughter again. And penelopexxx, here's the link I promised. :-)

Since yesterday was the last day of the Faire for 2008, there's only a brief description of the Faire itself. I'm sure there'll be more info on what it's all about when next summer rolls around. :-)
