The Bar Mitzvah last Saturday was cool. It was nice seeing the extended family. M's birthday parties last Sunday were a lot of fun. The ice skating party totally rocked. Everyone had fun, and thank you,
yumemitai, for being there and helping out. You had evened the adult/kid ratio to a manageable level. LOL
The house hunt is still going on. We received some feedback from the people who looked at our house. No nibbles yet, and some thought the house was priced too high. We may be forced to knock down the price if we don't get any offers in the next couple of weeks. We shall see.
I looked at a couple of houses early in the week. Both looked nice, but both had issues with the floor in one room (one was the family room that was added on to the house, the other bad floor was in the kitchen).... so I don't think we'll be seeing them again.
So far, we do have one house worth a second look... but we really can't do much until we have an offer on our house. Time is beginning to become an issue......
Work has gotten a tad better. The issue from last Friday was addressed, so things are calmer for now.
Oh yeah, the heat is here. Welcome summer. Today would have been the perfect beach day. Too bad I had to work...... **shrug** Speaking of which, both J and M asked if we could go to the beach one day during my vacation. That's a wait-and-see, with the whole move thing and all.
Tomorrow is M's last soccer game, which is at 1 PM. Great!! She's going to be playing in temperatures in the upper 90's. We'll make sure we have plenty of water for her (and us, too!!)
I also have to cut the grass. Maybe in the morning if I don't go to the in-laws.....
Jody's playing Mute-Boy again!! LOL He opens his mouth, makes the meowing motion.... but he's absolutely silent. Someone stole his voice box....
I made it to the gym today. Second time this week. I keep forgetting how much better I feel after going. Must. Go. More.
Jesus, it's humid!! I'm not moving, and I'm sweating. :-(
The management class work wants me to participate in starts this Friday. Fun, fun. I have some "light" reading to do.
Vacation in one week!! YIPPEE!!!!!!
Price of gas in my hometown: $4.359/gallon for the regular. $4.559/gallon for the premium. OUCH!!! Actually, I just laugh anymore. It beats crying. $5.00/gallon, here we come. Diesel's already there.
On a related topic, I have noticed that people are driving much slower the past few weeks. I'm sure it's to save some gas, but it's still bizarre. A few weeks ago, I'd drive 70-75 on the highway to keep from getting run over. This past week, I'd be going 60-65 and I wasn't getting passed.
I have another advantage with my car. Since it's a stick, I can shift gears at a lower RPM than in an automatic. Lower RPM = less gas used. :-) I'm seeing a difference, too. My car has an option to view average miles per gallon. I haven't reset it since I bought the car, which now has almost 8,000 miles. Despite doing mostly local driving since skiing season ended 2 1/2 months ago, the average mileage has gone up, I think because I'm shifting at a lower RPM now than I was a few months ago.
I'm sure that I'm not getting a lot better mileage, maybe 1-2 miles/gallon or so, but that adds up pretty quickly.
This concludes my pat on my sweaty back. :-D
Did I mention that it's hot??
