Well then, it has begun.
I'll be taking a tour at Syracuse University today, in fact, that's where I'm writing this post right now. I'm not entirely sure what I really want to do with my life, but I know it's going to be something involved with the sciences. So, I guess pre-med is the way to go. It's the most wide open as far as where you can go afterward, plus, it will give me another four or so years to decide what I really want to do.
I just realized something. I'm white, male, middle-class with good but not stupendous/outstanding/whatever grades and I'm not a jock god. I'm what they in the trade call the "screwed" demographic. Affirmative action is partly to blame, but I don't want to take a stand against it, it's not totally it's fault. Besides, I don't want to labeled a disgruntled racist because I couldn't get into an Ivy-League school. Oh yeah, I'm heterosexual as well. I'm not sure if they take that into account yet, but they might in the future.
I don't know about you guys, but I sure hate how High School has suddenly become a stat-building accessory to the college application process.
