Come and listen you fellars, so young and so fine,
And seek not your fortune in the dark, dreary mind.
It will form as a habit and seep in your soul,
'Till the stream of your blood is as black as coal.
It's dark as a dungeon and damp as the dew,
Where danger is double and pleasures are few,
Where the rain never falls and the sun never shines
It's dark as a dungeon way down in the mind.
It's a-many a man I have seen in my day,
Who lived just to labor his whole life away.
Like a fiend with his dope and a drunkard his wine,
A man will have lust for the lure of the mind.
I hope when I'm gone and the ages shall roll,
My body will blacken and burn like coal.
Then I'll look from the door of my heavenly home,
And pity the mind a-diggin' through my bones.
The midnight, the morning, or the middle of day,
Is the same to the mind that labors away.
Where the demons of death often come by surprise,
One slip on the slate and you're buried alive.
It's dark as a dungeon and damp as the dew,
Where danger is double and pleasures are few,
Where the rain never falls and the sun never shines
It's dark as a dungeon way down in my mind.

Ha! This my rewrite of the Merl Travis song "Dark as a Dungeon"
that was made popular by Tennessee Ernie Ford. "The song achieved much of
its fame when it was performed by Johnny Cash
in his Folsom Prison concert."

The above photo is of me in 2005.
I had a crappy camera and this was taken in the bathroom
with the lights very low and I was very tired.
It came out evil looking. Some people liked it,
I thought it was creepy, if not down right evil looking.
It makes me look older than I really looked.

It's been one hell of a month and I have been very worried
about my friends in the Philippines. They had a very destructive
Typhoon this month. It caused much damage and death in Manila.
It's almost exactly 3 years to the day I was there during
Typhoon Milenyo caused much damage also. The past year has had
a few Typhoons there that have taken a huge toll on life, property,
and the economy. Two of which crossed directly over my good friend,
Jabu. Her families farm was hit hard. More later
about my month and the typhoon.
I'm not feeling too happy, emotionally drained.
