Props from the Film "Engkwentro."
Photo from Rajo Laurel's Blog at www.StyleBible.ph
http://blogs.stylebible.ph/rajosblog/?p=4149 Rajo is a one of the most highly respected and celebrated fashion designers in the Philippines.
http://www.rajolaurel.com/ I am a fan of Rajo Laurel's work ever since I encountered his 2007 Igorot collection which he featured at the Bali Fashion Week in 2007. ( I wanted to attend the Fashion Week, was even considered having a wedding there. )
Rajo attended the Cinemalaya opening and was enthralled with the talent he was treated too. Apparently there was a display showing some of the props used in the Films represented this year. I'm delighted by the fact that Rajo found the above props note worthy enough to have photographed them and placed them on his blog. I keep running into him every time I turn around. Congratulations to "Engkwentro" I hope Rajo finally got to see the film! hehehe
Originally, I was looking for a Photo of Bianca Balbuena that appeared in the Philippine Star newspaper several days ago. She was in her Tsinellas hehehe Very cute! I was also looking some photos from the Venice Film Festival in order to post another congratulations to the Film "Engkwentro" and it's makers. Bianca Balbuena is the Assistant Director for the the Film. Her Live Journal can be found here:
http://beeyanca.livejournal.com/ She has posted many photos from her trip. YEA! Thanks and congratulations again Bianca!

Lion of the Future - "Luigi De Laurentiis" Venice Award for a Debut Film to Engkwentro by Pepe DIOKNO (Philippines) - ORIZZONTI
The photo on the 66th Venice Film festival site is of Pepe Diokno, the Director as he receives the Luigi De Larentiis, Lion of the future, award. WOW! I like Pepe and have read some transcripts and articles on his concerns. When I first heard about the movie I was very interested and excited. When I found out that Griska Bianca Balbuena was the Assistant director I was thrilled. I become acquainted with her back in 2008 when she was an assistant director working on "Alon," written and directed by Byron Bryant, a Cinema One Originals Film Festival entry.
http://www.cinemaone.tv/?mode=default&cmd=get&id=94 Alon won Best Actress:
Charee Pineda and Best Musical Score: Leujim Martinez. I never got a chance to see Alon but this year Bianca had two entries in the Cinemalaya Film Festival:
"Engkwentro"
