I suggest you look into a certain song called "Live Forever" in regards to Oasis. It has been judged many as one of, if not the best song ever written period.

On 27 August 2006, Live Forever was named the Greatest Song of all time in music history, in a poll released by Q Magazine. [1] In the November 2006 issue of Q Magazine, celebrating the magazine's 20th anniversary, U2 frontman Bono recognized "Live Forever" as one of six songs that he wished he had written from the last 20 years of music. [2]

You'd be hard pressed to top Bono's kudos.

Not to mention the fact that they had major success with songs like: "Some Might Say", "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Champagne Supernova" in addition to "Wonderwall". You're also forgetting that albums such as Be Here Now and Heathen Chemistry were commercially highly successful. To say that Oasis was a one hit wonder is highly ignorant.

While I can agree that there were some GOOD songs on Americana, nothing stands out nearly as much as songs of the aforementioned albums as well as many others from the 90's...Americana after all was a concept album and in many groups that I have discussed this with it is considered a low point in their career despite early commercial success.

Only you didn't name Definitely Maybe in that list.

And, I mean, even if you took Live Forever OFF of Defintely Maybe, it's still better than Morning Glory. I mean, the last three songs alone make it one of the best in the 90s. I had to consider it, even if I'm not a huge fan.

Solid point. My argument was mostly at the ridiculous comment that Oasis was a one-hit wonder. I mean, even if you absolutely despise Bono and U2, their props are some of the most flattering in the business. Even the most casual of fans can recognize how off-base that is. I mean, even "Lyla" was moderately successful and made it onto FIFA 06. I threw (WTS)MG out because it was more recognized and I honestly had no faith that people were aware of Defininetly Maybe. Thank you for proving me wrong :)

Haha, well I actually bought the Oasis albums I own in the order they came out, but I only have until Be Here Now.

I mean, Morning Glory is glorious, but I've never been able to listen to it as much as Definitely Maybe. I've never gotten stuck on so many songs from Morning Glory. I have to admit, when I first bought Definitely Maybe, it sat around in my room for a couple months because I didn't enjoy it too greatly when I first heard it, but one day Married With Children popped up on my iTunes and I had to go back and listen to it.
