ACK! I haven't updated in SOOOOOO LOOOONG. I'm so sorry! Wow. So.
Monday I went to a totally unproductive but fun meeting for GSA at lunch, and realized my English project was due the next day... interestingly enough. So I stayed up till midnight making a totally kick-ass cake that tasted horrible. Hehehe... I felt really bad doing it because I thought one recipe for Madeira cake would make enough for 2 cakes! Nuh-uh. So then I just did a cake out of the box so the flavours got pretty messed up. Madeira cakes are really awesome for cutting into shapes, but out-of-the-box cakes are supposed to be really fluffy and moist, so they fall apart like anything. It ended up being a layer of vanilla cake, and then a lemony stiff thing over that. Blurg. I put fondant icing on top to make it look really smooth, but then it didn't go all the way down on the sides! So I added a blue-coloured triangular strip on that side and that kinda made it better. Oh, for those of you who don't know what fondant icing is:
ANNA'S RANDOM COOKING LESSSON!
It's usually very hard to make [except when you buy it... ;)] because the texture and consistency are hard to get right. It's kind of like a sweet white dough, but it's extremely smooth and rather stretchy, I guess you could say. You roll it out and lay it over the cake and can also mold things out of it, like roses and sometimes little figurines. But most of the molding is usually done with marzipan, an almond-based confection with a grainy texture.
Anyways, before I get too carried away... I took out my gel dyes which are SUUPER concentrated, diluted some of them on a little dish and mixed them to make new colours, then painted them onto the cake. OH! But first, I made a fondant flower/rose in the center and painted the edges to add some uniqueness. Ah, I love that word. Uniqueness. Then, for each ring with a different theme (earth, fire, water) I painted a different backround colour and dabbed it off with a napkin, so you had this neat stucco effect, almost. And then I didn't let the class eat it. Haha, I'm so cruel! Muahaha....
Earlier that day I went to tap and it rocked.
I don't remember what I did on Tuesday....
Or wednesday....
I think I baby-sat on Thursday... or was it Wednesday?
I went to dance after school on Friday, and it was lots o' fun. We learned a ton about Fosse dance style, and learned some new crunches. I love doing crunches! My abs are all strong now, and I can do the crunches in Miss Nicole's class without hurting too much anymore. After dance, my cooool cousin Tom picked me up and we went with Wilburrito to get a haircut. Not his best one, I might add, but it wasn't absolutely horrible.
Marshall had a football game last night. I went to Madison's. *grin* Ah, what little school spirit I have. Hehe. So I went with Maureen, and saw Samantha, Grace, Sara, Adrienne, Leah, Teddy Bear!!, Amy (Maureen's friend), umm.... this girl that used to be in a musical theatre class I was in, Judy, Dita, Bridget, Courtney, and Stephen. I saw Billy, whom I met at that fabulous Monty Python marathon so long ago, but I didn't say hi because I didn't think he'd remember me. The band show was SO GOOD. Their musical selection was really impressive and it reminded me of Carl Orff, in some ways. BUT our cheerleaders are waay better. The Madison dance team rocked, too. Then Maureen's mom picked us up *early* (grr).
Then, alas, I crashed into bed. Sleep feels so good.

What a long entry...
