DEODORANT PARTAY!!

Yes, that's right, I had a DEODORANT PARTY!! *Woot, woot!* Natasha and Jennifer came over on their way to CVS so Natasha could get something yummy (haha), and I decided I'd grab some money for deodorant. My "freesia" one broke apart at MY DANCE RECITAL! (Sounds like it's time for a flashback!) By the way, I should be writing my English essay right now, but I just can't. I don't have the information and it doesn't feel like I could do it successfully. Tomorrow I will.

First of all, I'd just like to say that I LOVE this Gorillaz song, number twelve on the CD. Dare. It's got a really strong beat. Yum! Ahem, anyway, Saturday was my Cuppett's dance recital. I was really excited to be in the evening performance, because that's when the really good groups perform. This year it was split into three times, morning, afternoon, and night, so they'd all be shorter. Jazz was first. OK, so the costumes probably weren't the most flattering, but it's all good. We start out in a line, and I was at the front, so that was kind of nerve-racking for me (sp?). Once we started, though, I thought we all did pretty well. Last Friday we had a sub, Betsy, who was really fantastic. She REALLY helped us get our dance together. Afterwards, Miss Nicole was like, "Alright, I don't know WHAT Betsy did to make you guys this much better, but it worked." Aw, she makes me feel so good! :P Then I sort of got into my... "element." I went back to the dressing room right across the hall and had to get into my tap costume really quickly because it wasn't that far ahead. It was then that I started to feel like a part of something bigger, like a community. I mean, I'm not a fantastic dancer, but I'm working on it and I really hope to grow better next year. I certainly did this year. :) So I swindled-- er, borrowed, but I like saying "swindled" better-- some scissors and "hemmed" the bottom of my tap pants, MUAHAHA! That was fun, mucho thanks goes to Dorothy for helping me hem them. Julia and I talked and laughed about Harry Potter and other stuff, and it was awesome. I loved hanging out with her! I mean, I still do, but referring to the moment... yeah, you get it. :P I laughed so hard! Then we had to go backstage and get ready, and there were definitely some nifty dances before us. Then we went on and did our thing. FABULOUS! As we were exiting the stage after the blackout, this really good dancer was like, "You guys were amazing," and the audience cheered! Haha, I really liked it, as you can see. Then back in the lecture hall/dressing room I got to chat with Julia more and there were even more laughs. I love that girl. Then there was the finale and the awards, and I got to thinking, when they got to the scholarships, that next year I would try my best to get one. It won't really matter if I don't, but I think that if I at least try for one I'll be a lot happier with myself for it and I'll go/get farther. Afterwards, I was looking around for my family, and I started walking down the hallway towards the entrance to the auditorium. I remember starting to feel sort of lonely and subdued, when all of a sudden (my heart was of a flutter [haha]!) Kate and Julian came around the corner. It was such perfect timing, her coming around the corner and me just coming upon it, and we kind of stopped. Then I hugged her and we talked for a bit but I felt really great after seeing her. Then I went back up on the stage (where everyone was) to look for my family and saw Miss Nicole. I told her Kate was here and she got all excited, it was really cute. Man, Kate, you are SO loved! :) My Dad finally found me and gave me three pink roses. Very sweet. Everyone else was back home, so I went back with Dad. As I left, there was this girl, Ally Mulligan, leaning up against the brick. She's an eighth grader now. Anyway, she's really pretty but she always seems to have this deadpan face. Whenever I see her she doesn't really do anything, but that night was different for some reason. I told her she did a good job and she smiled and said "you, too," as is mostly customary. It was kind of a greeting, I guess. It's funny though, because even now I just can't picture her smiling. Hm. I guess it's just one of those things that makes a person feel... satisfied? I guess so. But it was definitely nifty. Then I wenthome, dinner, "The Life Aquatic" with Will, then bed at 2.

So that was my dance recital! Earlier on Saturday I went to high tea with my mom and grandma at The Victorian Tea Room in Old Town Manassas. It was really cute and I got jasmine tea, my favorite. I love jasmine tea. So yeah, that was fun, then afterwards we walked around. There was this REALLY COOL ceramics shop, but it had the workshop right out in the shop, with no real walls or anything around it. It just gave the whole place a really cool feeling, and in the back was where you took classes. The whole place was BIG, but it worked. They had all these different ceramics/pottery artists with their works all over the shop, on the shelves and such, and there were some awesome things. This summer maybe I'll take some classes, I definitely want to get back into art. :) It makes me feel so complete. Then we were short on time, so I didn't get to go into a promisingly funky shop. Ah, oh well, I'll just have to go back! So I went to my recital.

I have to go to bed, but I'll probably update more tomorrow. Nighty!
