Sorry I haven't updated in such a long time! I've tried several times
(well, two) , but I think the first time I exited out on accident and
the second time Mom turned off the computer... or something. But anyway!
Saturday I went to work with Summer Solutions at 8:15, so I had to wake
up at, like, 7:30. I got to Julia's house, spilled orange juice on my
pants, cleaned it up, and then went to pick up SARA!! I hadn't seen
dear Wickersham since she came to Runaways in the summer, so that was a
really great change of pace. It was really odd, because all of a
sudden, the old Anna was back again! I was joking around and being
stupid with Julia and Sara just like in 8th grade... of course, in a
much more mature way. Of course. ;) I worked til maybe 12-ish, and then
Julia's mom came with Will to replace us while we went to MADISON'S ONE
ACTS!!!
I got there and immediately felt like I was
welcomed. I saw people I knew right when I walked in the door (Teddy
Bear, Nikki, Katte, Jackie) and I got to help with hair and make-up,
etc. I don't think they would've let an insider do that in Marshall
theatre.... Nothing against Marshall, of course, which I love and
cherish and am very proud of, but Marshall and Madison theatre are very
different. Marshall is super professional and exact and everything, and
Madison is just FUN. Like, they don't give a shit if something bad
happens, they just deal with
it! At least, it seems that way. They have fun with what they're doing
and do a great job with it. Later on I saw some other really awesome
friends, like Kate D., Stephen, Kyle, Allison, Betsy, and more. So I
got to go watch the first one-acts, including Mmmbeth. It was extremely
well done. Stephen did a great job directing those *hooligans* and they
all really turned out a great performance. :) So good job!! After that
I walked down to McDonald's with Sabrina and Diana (spelling?) who I'd
met, like, fifteen minutes before. :P That was kind of weird, because
Betsy wanted me to sit with her, and Sabrina and Dianna (I'll try out
both ways to be safe) wanted me to sit with them. So I ended up
alternating between the two groups. I feel reeeally bad now, because I
think Betsy felt pretty left out. I invited her to come sit with me at
the other table, but she didn't. : / What do ya do? We walked back to
Madison and I got my groove on with Betsy, Diana, and Sabrina on the
stage-- something I couldn't have done at Marshall-- and listened to
Depressed on Rob's radio station. That's some serious rock, man. Then I
talked to people while they prepped for the show, and went to 7 Eleven
with Mal and Melanie for some Pop-Tarts. Yuuuuuummmmm, cinnamon
poppppppp-taaaarts. Why the multiple "ppppp"'s? Because they weren't
poop tarts. Haha, sorry, that was really immature. But you gotta be
immature SOMEtimes. Anyway. Then I got to see the second batch of
one-acts. The first one was fabulous. Really bloody brilliant. Pretty
much everyone in that scene was flawless, and they all seemed to fit
their parts extremely well. Kate's scene was... phenomenal. "I Stand
Before You Naked" was very well done, especially in Kate, Mallary, and
Allison Crerie's pieces. You all should be SO proud. :) Then I went
home at the end of a very long and happy day.
Sunday I went to work from 7:30 to maybe 4:30, got paid a hundred bucks
(*YAY!!*), and went home. What followed was THE BEST night I've had
with my family in probably more than six months. There wasn't any
fighting, and we all laughed our asses off. I mean, really. And all
because of a tossed mint soup, bloody hand, and funny tape recording
including me reciting a menu in a New York accent (supposedly) and
saying BAM! when you least expect it. Oh, and an exploding gingerbread
house. Wonderful times. Twas truly a magical weekend. :)
