My audition for Tech was today...and it went well! Lubbock here I come!!!!!!!!!! I don't care what anyone says, I love it there. The weather is good (there are actaully winters!!). Anyway, when I got there I had to take a theory test. I did alright. Not great, but not terrible. Its just a placement test anyway, to maybe get me out of my first semester of theory, but everyone tells me to take it anyway. It was so weird because before my audition I didn't get to rehearse with my accompanist at all! But they are jsut that amazing to be able to read music like that. So after I sang and did my sight-reading and all I had the interview part. They didn't ask me anything except who my voice teacher was and if I had any questions for them. So I just asked them about performing opportunities as a musis education major, and everything they said was very positive. I like them A LOT!!! Dr. Elrod said that Dr. Dickson (who was at OHS yesterday) had called her last night to tell her to come find me today at the auditions if I didn't end up in her room. So when I walked in she was like, YAY, I don't have to run around looking for you! haha. So anyway, it went really well, they were nothing but positive. GOOD STUFF. One draw back to Tech is the drive...6 hours is a long way. But if you ask me, its worth it. Especially with Kristen up there with me, and Jamey, the drive shouldn't be too bad, if we split it up. So, YAY, happy day :-D
