Anberlin/BTT

We got to the venue at four-ish and we head upstairs to get in line, and then Kelsey looks outside and sees Nate and Stephen so we run downstairs. What I didn't realize was that Jamie was with them, so we got down there and he said he liked my shirt and I was just in complete shock because I was hoping for him to be there, but not really planning on it actually happening. Then I talked to him for a little bit and told him that I carved the Love Is The Movement pumpkin last year. & he was just really sweet and pretty much one of my favorite people ever. When we were talking to him, Nate and Stephen just kept going so we kinda separated Jamie from them and we felt bad, but he found them all right.

Then we got back in line and nothing really eventful happened, but Kelsey said I'm a creepy stalker for knowing who Between The Trees's merch guy is. Oh well.

Doors opened at six, then the show at seven. So we got in and waited and hour for Camera Can't Lie. I think their guitar was turned up too high, but they were still good. Their lead singer had a really nice voice. In the middle of their set, this girl shoved her way up to the front and people were trying to push her back since they had been there a lot earlier and they wanted to keep their spots, then she thought it was necessary to start screaming and smack someone in the head. All while they were trying to play. I hate when people don't give any respect to the opening bands when they work just as hard as everyone else. I don't think anything else all the interesting happened during their set, but they were good.

Then it was BETWEEN THE FREAKING TREES. I was so ridiculously excited for them and I knew all the words so Ryan and I were singing to each other a lot and it was amazing. At the line "it's affecting your lungs" in Fairweather, Ryan was looking at me and did this little dance thing like he couldn't breathe and it was adorable. During and after their set, I heard so many people saying he has a really good voice and it made me really happy. I really think they made a lot of new fans, which is sweet and means they'll hopefully come back.

Next was Madina Lake, where I probably could have died. They were really energetic and they put on a really good show, but the crowd was kind of ridiculous. Their lead singer told everyone to put their arms up then jumped into the crowd and I didn't expect that at all, but I managed to hold my spot the whole time for Anberlin. Their lead singer kept saying how that night was all about us and to just let go of all our thoughts and just lose ourselves, and I thought that was really cool since that's always been my favorite thing about shows. They also made me realize how dangerous choruses can be. Once they hit it, people for insane. Crazy stuff. I only know three songs, so I only know that they played those three.

One Last Kiss
House Of Cards
Here I Stand

Before Anberlin/Jamie came out, all these frat boys pushed their way up to the front and were laughing about how they stole everyone's spots. One said he didn't get there until 5:45 and just went up the left side of the stairs and cut off the whole line and got a front, which is complete bull.

Jamie came out and spoke before Anberlin and that was amazing. I've been wanting to hear him speak for probably three years now, and I love that when I finally did it was completely unexpected. People were talking a lot, which was really upsetting. He asked people to be quiet and said something along the lines of "You might not need to hear this, but the person next to you might. If anything, just listen because I have a cool shirt on (which said 'The prettiest girls in the world are from Des Moines' or something like that)." And he said he thought To Write Love On Her Arms was more like a Fall Out Boy song title, which I thought was funny. After he was done speaking, a guy by me asked what Jamie was saying and his friend said that Jamie basically said that he was Anberlin's friend. He said that once and it's pretty sad that that's all some people got out of it.

Last was Anberlin. They put on such a good show and have so much energy and just asdglkhasgh. Stephen and Deon were smiling the whole time and Deon was singing along the whole time. During Adelaide, I put my hand out and Stephen grabbed it and that made me feel special. I think the crowd lost a lot of energy during Madina Lake because there wasn't as much pushing and everything, which I was very thankful for. I love when there are screaming parts like in Dismantle. Repair. when it's all "Dismantle me down, REPAIR!" Deon got all into it and would jump up on the little box things and scream and it was just sweet. Also, I've never been so thankful for a slower song in the middle of the set. They were perfectly placed, and it was nice to have a breather. Of course, it went right back to normal once they sped it back up, but it was a good time. They played (*Fin) for their encore and it was so ridiculously epic. I never thought that would be a song they play live, and I was actually able to see it, which is amazing. Stephen didn't seem as energetic and just stood behind Joey and Deon during the instrumental parts, then he just left the stage before the song was over. I'm really hoping it wasn't anything with his voice and that it was just a technical thing, but who knows.

After the show, I got a Between shirt and had Jeremy, Josh Jove, and Wes sign my poster and got a picture and told them they're amazing/need to come back/etc. And Josh said he saw me singing and I was all =D. Then we looked around for anyone else and I saw Ryan and got a picture and he was like "You knew all the words!" and made me all =D too. Then he asked if we liked the show and if we'd come back and Kelsey said we drove two and a half hours for them and it was completely amazing and he was all =O and I said we went six for Warped and he was like "that's a lot of hours." & I just said that they're worth it & he's just cool. Then we looked around a little more and didn't see anyone, so Kelsey got a Camera EP and they all signed it and put "To Kelsey" on it and we didn't see them do that for anyone else. So basically, I love BTT, Anberlin, TWLOHA, and The People's Court.

Awww Wes!
