A Long Reprieve

It's alive!!!

Hey everyone, long time no chat. Tax season is officially over but I still feel pretty busy. The season went pretty well though I'm glad the hours are going down now.

The bank accepted our bid for the house including seller paying closing costs. We had the inspection done on Wednesday as it had just seemed worth it to make sure there were no major problems we didn't know about. As it turned out there is a gas leak so it's being taken care of before we move in and nothing else big we didn't really know about. the inspection company was nice and gave us a handbook on being homeowners and how to maintain things. The forms I've been signing have said that the closing is aiming for April 29th but everybody is trying to get it down before that which means we could have it by the weekend I suppose...or at least by May. So, this whole process took less than a month which is just crazy to me. I'm excited to get a house though and have begun packing some things up for the new place. The apartment is in complete disarray!

The church had a bridal shower for me this weekend which went very well. I got some neat things and got to see some of the people I hadn't got to see in a while do to working lots of hours. Dustin and my mommy went as well. My mom came in for the tasting we had on Wednesday. The food for the reception is going to be wonderful! I'm super-excited. The lady in charge of decorating and organizing seems like she knows what she's doing as well so it will probably end up being a surprise to me when I walk in. We did pick the centerpieces though. I only have a few little things now to do I guess and just pay the various people hired to take care of all of this for me which is kinda the scary part but the rebate check will go far. I get mine on May 2nd according to the IRS website :)

I might as well admit this in public since I'd expected it at the time anyway. While I was taking the CPA exam there were two sections I really didn't have enough time to study for and although I wanted to change the time knowing I wasn't ready it was going to cost about the same to reschedule as it would to reapply for the test so I decided just to take them and either luck out or know what to expect. So, as anticipated I didn't pass them and will have to take them again. This time I'm not going to schedule them for while I'm trying to do everything though so it's going to be probably late in the summer early fall. Doesn't seem like I should get married and move into the house at the same time as I already don't have time. The problem is I also wanted to take the law entrance exam (which are the portions of the exam I passed pretty much) and start law school in '09 I suppose. Hopefully by then I'll have a couple raises and Dustin will have a job to help the extra expense as I don't know that I can do it with the newly acquired house payments anyway. Hmm...will figure that all out as it comes up.

So, I beleive that's all the news. We are 20 days and counting until the wedding and his family will be getting here may 4th. I'm hoping the house will be mostly set up by then but that's probably just crazy talk. I really need to learn to chill and spread things out more. Bah!
