So it has been a while since I have updated this. Sorry to all of you that like to read this....I had a rash of laziness, so I figured I would lay down till it went away. So, here are some things I promised people I would put in here since I last updated:
1. Back in October, I went to Pam and Eric's wedding. It was great. I saw a lot of people from back in the day....Jen Toti, Becky, Renee, Caryn, Jill, and Mandy to name a few. (I didn't mention you Vera cause I still actually talk to you). So, anyways, it was great to see all those people and best wishes to Pam and Eric.
2. I saw Cream at MSG back in October. It was awesome, but it wasn't what I expected. I thought they would talk about their times back in the 60's and how they made their music. They didn't, but it was still cool to see a reunion show that is really once-in-a-lifetime.
3. I went back to Cali in November. I was there for a little over a week. As usual, I was there for work, but I got to see my Aunt and Uncle. Also, the weather was awesome. It was 85 degrees almost everyday. I love that weather. I'll take that anyday over what is about to come in NY for the winter. I also almost got kicked off of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. That is another story for another time.
4. Thanksgiving was good, like always. I spent Thanksgiving Day with my family in Jersey at the grandparents. It was great to see my Grandfather. I just don't know how much longer he is going to be around and that really upsets me cause he is my hero. I just want him to make it through one more Christmas because I know he isn't going to be around forever.
Friday was the annual Turkey Bowl. We have been having this for about 10 years now and it is always fun. Yes, there are some new people every year, but no one cares. Unfortunately, this may have been the last year of tackle. One of the bigger guys went down after making an amazing one-handed catch. For him, he broke his collarbone and is down for 6-8 weeks.
Now back to the regular stuff. My bro BJ had a birthday this past Friday. His family threw him a surprise party, which was a lot of fun. I didn't make it home till about 3am. Saturday we took him out to Smithtown (and by we I mean myself, Dave, Brian Hine, and Allison). That was one of the better times I have had out in a couple of months. I didn't get home again till about 3am again.
Lately I have had this feeling of dejection. I don't know why. I do know it hasn't been for one reason or another, but I think a few things have been compounding over time to bring this feeling on. Maybe it is because I haven't been able to do what I want or I feel like I haven't gotten something out of life thus far, but I don't know. Maybe this will go away if I lay down again. Maybe these are somethings to think about:
There's going to be storms in your life, but you have to deal with the storms.
It might not be the hand you want, but it's the hand you've been dealt and that's the one you are going to have to play.
You find out a lot, when you go through hard times, about people.
Sometimes you have to do things that maybe you normally wouldn't do.
Life is not about convience. Life is about commitment.
You have to play through some nicks, some bruises, some bumps.
Don't forget where you came from and how hard it was for you to get there.
We're not going to panic. We're not going to be distracted by other people's opinions on what we should do.
I'm not going to cheat myself. That's one thing I'm not going to do.
All of these are from one of today's best speakers and motivators: Jets coach Herman Edwards.
Oh, one last thing.....Gina, this is for you:
