So, yet again, I haven't updated in quite a while. I have been quite busy and quite lazy all at the same time. What a conundrum. Oh well. So here it goes....
I went to Jared and Sarah's wedding a couple of weeks ago. I had such a great time. It was awesome to see two people who compliment each other so well decide to spend the rest of their lives together. It was also great to see a lot of my friends together in the same room again. I don't get to experience that a lot anymore, so I take it when I can and savor the moment. It was just a great weekend overall.
For the rest of this week, I basically worked and went to the gym. Nothing too different than the usual.
The next weekend nothing happened out of the ordinary. What a shocker right?! I went to O'Mally's Friday night with Matt, Brian, and Laura. I actually talked to 2 different girls that night that were there with groups of their friends. I don't remember the last time I did that. Some kinda of confidence boost there, I guess.
That Sunday night my parents came home from Italy. They got me the thing I asked for: a full size Italian flag!! That is pretty tight. They also got me a t-shirt, not that I need another one of those. Still though, you'd think it would be a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or something to do with something Italian. Not my family though!! My parents got me a Nirvana t-shirt from Italy. Now, you may be thinking that is way cool cause it is in Italian. Oh no my friends....it was in ENGLISH!!! This is something I could have spent $15 bucks on at Hot Topic, if I were a Nirvana fan that is. The thought was there though, which is awesome.
The next week, I worked and went to the gym.....same shit, different week. Plus Summer came to an end.....that sucked.
This past weekend was nothing less than spectacular and rockin' (pun intended). Friday night was pretty low-key. I went to Harvard's and met up with Jonathan, Rob, Dustin, and Marissa. However, I also saw some people there which I haven't seen in quite sometime....Erin Coughlin, James Trappen, and Kerri McKenna. It was good to see some familiar faces and have a nice conversation. Then I went home and slept for the following day, which I knew was going to be long.
Saturday was Paul McCartney Concert Day/Night. I asked my friend Adrienne to come since I haven't seen her since I was in Cali (where she is from) back in June. I picked her up at Hofstra and we took the train into MSG. We walked about 10 blocks into the Village and ate at this awesome Italian restaurant that was damned cheap!! Can't beat that!!
We then walked back to the Garden and since Adrienne had never been to MSG, I decided to take her on a lap outside the Garden. Nothing spectacular, but still cool for someone who has never seen it. So we walk in and find our seats, which were good, but not great. That didn't matter though...we were seeing Paul Freakin' McCartney!! As soon as we sit down I hear out of Adrienne's mouth, "Ohhh.....Cotton candy!! I want some!!" So what does she buy, the most enormous bag of cotton candy I have ever seen. To make this short, she basically ate 2/3 of the bag within the first 20 minutes of sitting there.
At this time, the video montage of Paul started and once that was finished, the man himself graced the stage and opened with Magical Mystery Tour. For the next 2 hours, all Paul did was play, play, and play some more. He left the stage, but we all knew there was more. For the first encore, he did Let It Be and 2 other songs I didn't know. He once again left the stage, but only to come back for one more encore in which he played St. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band with some Abbey Road mixed in. It was absolutely amazing!!
Too bad the show had to end, but was something I will never forget. So we left and met my parents and their friends outside the Garden. I was hungry, so I got a dirty water dog. Adrienne wanted one (with ketchup nonetheless), so she got one. Unfortunately, we missed our train and had to wait for the 12:28, so we sat down and people watched in Penn for about a half hour. That was cool only because I haven't done it before. There was this weird freaky guy walking back and forth throughout Penn with a bad-ass set of mutton chops.....that was pretty cool though. Then when they called the track for the train, we got caught up in the bum rush towards the train. Once on the train, I got crushed against the door for the whole ride home. That basically sucked, but what are you going to do.
About 1am, I dropped Adrienne off and we called it a night. An awesome one at that. Once I made it home around 2 am, I was pretty tired, but also still fired up from the concert and just having a really good night. Not to say that I don't have a lot of fun when I hang out with my friends, but this was different. It is too difficult to put into words, so I won't. Sorry people.
So now I am back to working, going to the gym, and basically more of the same. I am looking forward to seeing Cream on the 25th. That is going to be another once-in-a-lifetime performance. Hockey is back, I am kinda excited about that. I say kinda excited because the Rangers look very young and very young does not translate into wins very often. But we shall see. The Mets' season is over. Nothing strange there. Too bad Mike Piazza won't be back as a Met next season. He is someone I always liked watching play because you knew he was all heart. The Jets are done, and so is my boy Chad Pennington. Another torn rotor cuff....not so good Al. The only team that is doing well are my Notre Dame Fightin' Irish. They are 4-1 under new coach Charlie Weis. In 2 weeks they play USC (too bad it is the same day as Hofstra's Homecoming because that is where I will be.)
Anyways, I am going to watch some more of the Packers/Panthers MNF game. Nothing exciting there, but there is nothing else on. Anyways, night folks. Oh, and Happy Birthday to my sister Gina. She turns 26 on the 4th. Ok, night folks.
