.UNTITLED PARTICIPANT.
You really hate group task. Doing task with so-called your group, but end up finishing it by yourself. Let another members of group are just being complement on the task cover. You’re sighing as you’re recalling yesterday’s scene.
~
Your lecturer finally came to the class after 35 minutes late, made the students went back to their seats. She talked in a rush to the class, said that she had an emergency surgery in hospital and gave all of you a presentation task, seven topics for seven groups. She told all of you to form the group by yourselves, earned many ‘Yeiy!’ from the class. By the time she went, your classmates went around the class, looked for a groupmate. But you were still sitting there on your seat, nowhere to go, nobody to be asked. You turned on your laptop, mumbled something about the task topics while your brain started to imagine how good it would be if you and ‘him’ are in the same group. You clicked the browser then you felt somebody sat on the seat besides you. You turned your head and found him. Seriously, is it fate? It’s like everytime you wish to meet him. All you need is just turn your head around and you’ll find him.
“Hi!”, he greeted you.
You smiled. It’s not like you were playing hard to get him, it’s just.. you didn’t know the proper words to react. You were silent. Eyes were back on the laptop. Pretended to browsing the task topic at Google when in fact your mind was wandering to search the proper words. ‘Words to impress someone you like on the first talk?’ ‘Wise words?’ ‘Silly words?’ you were finding the perfect keyword to type on the searching bar when he moved towards you and peeked your screen.
“You’re already working on the task? So you’re already have groupmates?”
“Hmm.. No, I haven’t had yet.”
“So why you’re starting browsing the task topic already? Don’t you wait for your groupmates to sharing the work sheet?”, he continued asking you.
“The earlier the better, rite? Though it’s called group task, but usually I’ll end up finishing it by my self. So why don’t I finishing the main chapter soon and the cover later?”, you answered him, eyes were still on the screen, still didn’t brave enough to saw him.
“Wow, you’re… honest.”, he chuckled. “But why you’re such in hurry?”
“Well, I like being the first one. First in finishing task, first in collecting the exam, first in completing the summer homework, first in… everything. Sometimes, I even race against my sister in showering time.”, you laughed as you faced him and wondered why are you so open up to him.
“Hahaha.. Silly you two!”, he said and gave you his bracing smile. “So you have sister? Older or younger?”, he tilted his head towards you, gave you his curious expression.
Seeing his smile made you realized that you already talked too much. You turned to silent mode again, eyes on screen while you answered his question, stuttered.
“Ee..hh.. it’s younger..”
You kept still, neither talked nor faced him. Busied yourself with Google though you didn’t really know what you’ve searched for. Hoped for somebody or something help you to disappear from this awkward situation. ‘Aishhhh.. Why does the bell don’t ring when it’s needful?’, you kept mumbling.
“Honestly, I am like you..”, he said suddenly.
You startled. ‘What did he say? He likes me?’ You turned your head, gave him your saucer eyes.
“Hah? What did you say again?”
“I’m like you. I also think that group task is something that lecturer doesn’t give to students because its ineffectiveness.”, he explained.
“Ohhhh… you’re like me..”, you sighed, mumbled words like ‘shoot’, didn’t paid any attentions to him.
“I also like being the first one. Too bad I don’t have any siblings to be a rival in the shower race.”, he laughed.
Though your eyes were on the screen, you kept listening to him. Tried so hard to prevent yourself from closing the browser and opening the Ms. Words instead, typing all the words he had said to you. ‘Oh, he’s the only one child’, you noted.
“Hei, why don’t we be a groupmate?”, he said as he tapped on your shoulder, startled you.
You didn’t answer him, just stared at him with a frown look. Still on the daze phase because of the warm feel on your shoulder.
“Will it be easier for us if we work together? We’re a same type person. And we can starting it now, thinking about the rest groupmates later. How about that?”
You made your poker face, pretended to turn it over in mind, and gave your hesitate note before your weak ‘okay’.
“Good! Now you can do your chapter while I’m going to preparing for the presentation sheets. And I think I’m the one who’ll commit the presentation.”, he said confidently.
“Why on earth you’re the one who’ll do the presentation? I can do that too.”, you answered him, slightly felt he belittled you through his words.
“But your trembling voice and jelly legs didn’t obeyed you, back then. Besides, your tooth drawing was kinda mess”, he gave you his final bracing smile and stood up. Left you alone with your opened mouth and widened eyes, shocked because of his honest words.
“Aishhh… That boy..”

It’s 1:34 am here, and I’m feel miserable because of the rain.
Hope it doesn’t give a bad influence to the fic.
This should be a bright chapter.
:)
And I kinda feel sorry for my words on the last chapter.
When I think back again, I will keep on writing even though no one is reading.
LOL
Thank you for everything!
:)
