Groove '08

Raising the Standard.

Attended this year's Asia Hip Hop Festival. THE BIG GROOVE 2008.

Everything about it is freaking awesome. Great dancers, of different genres, schools - of that hold no boundaries.

We cheered on for An An, for most of all time. The fact that she's our instructor. Woo-whee.

We'd conveniently sat a few seats behind the O Crew, it was quite sad that we hadn't been able to get the better seats. The front rows. But it was good enough. (Even though, the people seated in front of us looked suspiciously nothing like relatives of the O Crew) Oh well.

I think one of the best group that amazed me (us all) was the dynamic duo of two young japanese boys. The B.S. Brothers. Aged 8 and 12. A light-hearted performance. Pretty enjoyable. Almost every one in the crowd were squeeing about how cute the little boy was. XDD So young yet so talented. They were quite the mirror image of one another, their dance moves that is.

My favorite highlights of the dance teams would have been the dance numbers put up by Singapore Poly's SDZ and Nanyang Poly's Foreign Bodies. They're awesome! Interesting moves and they had managed to keep me engaged throughout their performances. Probably, the choice of music?

Australia's Kulture Break had on a pretty different show. Was it the MTV groove? Because they weren't about showcasing techniques and genres. Rather, in sync choreography. Nevertheless, the Usher wannabe has a pretty good voice, rofl.

UH. AND how could we forget about the ultimate performers highlight of today? The Wrecking Crew Orchestra from Japan. They were a magnificent group number who string up a series of different genres by their members. Solo. I really like UU. :D

Above it all, O Crew earned the most cheers. Wrecking and B.S. a close second, i feel. It was an awesome showcase.
