girls retreat!!
well the girls retreat just kicked rear end. i bought a wallet, glittens =), & 4 one dollar bracelets. we stayed at a hotel & i'd have to say i like the cottage deal better but it still rocked. we colored a lot, played catch phrase (which is my new favorite game) & loaded questions (i was on panel =P) & had 3 awesome speakers.
on friday night elisabeth talked about the word & how important it is to read God's word. she said "i don't read my bible every day" & that really encouraged me because neither do i, but that doesn't mean i'm a "bad christian." i mean i should strive to read my bible more than i do but just because reading it period is a good start.
on saturday morning bethany talked about prayer. how we need to schedule our lives around God, not fit God into our schedule. again, she stated how she knows she doesn't pray like she should & that was another encouragement. nobody's perfect & everybody's trying to get somewhere else in their Walk with Christ.
on saturday night janni (mrs. ruark) talked about prayer again. she talked about having trigger points, like when you walk past someone's house you pray for them or when you brush your teeth you pray for President Bush. you know, stuff like that. she also suggested assigning prayer requests to certain days of the week which is really interesting & a good thing. because i'm always forgetting to pray for things. so that's a good way to remember.
janni also talked about the 4 areas of prayer. worship, thanksgiving, confession, & requests. it's important to incorporate all of those things into our prayers. she also said how praying out loud is really affective & helps you to stay focused & not wander around in your mind. i've never really prayed out loud by myself, but now i wanna try it.
marcella got me a devotional book for my birthday (which happens to be today =P) & i'm really excited to start that. i still want those clogs from american eagle. this week we only have two days of school! =D mattie takes her drivers test on tuesday & hopefully gets her liscence so on wednesday we can get my ear pierced & go shopping! =D
