In an afterlife reserved for suicides (a high-desert landscape dotted by old tires, burned-out cars, and abandoned sofas) no one can smile, and the sky is a starless void. You live in a bland world that looks a lot like the one you just left, though with far less color, life, and -obviously- happiness.
[But the afterlife is one hell of a ride.]
Welcome to your afterlife. Your former life was so bleak that you chose to end it and now you are in a place far more depressing than the one you just left. But the idea of killing yourself again is only fleeting. You don't want to wind up in a worse place. There's plenty to do, but it doesn't seem to bring you joy. You can remember what it's like to smile and you wonder how many people cried at your funeral.
