Sincere thanks to bradcpu, whose impossibly patient beta was instrumental to this vid even seeing the light of day.

Verse 1
There was a season when my steps were unwavering
Within me was this ocean
That would repair and cure me of all my pains
But at the passing of time
I am no longer certain of my hearts integrity
The days of my youth
Now only an abstract memory

Chorus
Is my essence just a delusion?
How long do I submit to such a night
Where dreams are shattered
And mine forsake me
My silent cries reveal the stains of my memory

Verse 2
Everything is fragmented it’s falling apart
Yet perfectly connected, attached, aligned in my heart
A collage of hopes I had commissioned from within
Were denied me and blotted out
They cannot understand my life's journey
So I alone must complete it

Bridge
Disconnected from my thoughts
Disconnected from my dreams
This life
This road in silent suffering I must travel

Oh, this vid. The musicality came easily, the narrative structure, not so much. My hope is that I've managed to eek out a satisfactory balance. bradcpu was a huge help with the structure, although the changes he asked for were exceedingly painful to implement. After much stress and frustration, I think the end result is a stronger vid, and he deserves much of the credit for that.

To say this is not my usual vidding fare is an understatement. I hope it still seems like "me," regardless. And if it doesn't, well, I hope this new person is someone ya'll like too. :)

Enjoy! I'd sincerely appreciate any and all feedback, and would doubly love you if you posted comments to this entry over any comms I might've x-posted to. =)
