I know that "Tony" stays because the show needs him, but a real person in "Tony's" shoes would have left long ago.

This is painful, but so much more in true character. This is what a real person would have done. Well done.

Thanks for sharing.

I agree. There is absolutely no reason for him to stay, least of all after the awfulness that is the sixth season. He's not developing as a person/character. I'm starting to doubt the need for Tony on the show, because I think I'd be happier to remember him a few seasons ago, than watch him continue to deteriorate.

Glad you liked it.

The whole show has slid over the last few years. Ziva is no longer an assassin; she's a pretty girl who is occassionally treated like she's dangerous. Tim grew out of the awkward probie stage and into a snarky rude man with no life. Tony was the light-hearted frat boy, but with Gibbs leaving and Jenny dying it was impossible to leave him acting that carefree, so the writers have just ignored him or set him up as the idiot.

It may be time for the show to sail off into the sunset.

Word. Really. Ziva has absolutely nothing to do on the show - I'm not sure she ever had, but after the initial "look she's not Kate, she's sexy and way different" of season 3, she certainly hasn't had anything to do.

Abby and McGee continue to dance around each other, repeating the same storyline over and over whenever one of them brings a person of the other sex to NCIS. Abby is just annoying. McGee is like you said - snarky rude. Gibbs seems distant.

Yeah. Sail off into the sunset, please... especially if they're gonna focus on the spinoff at the same time.

now I'm deeply depressed *sniffs* But it's all so true and could have easily happened that way.

I'm completely with you with McGee and Vance, you wrote what I'm thinking since watching that epiosde :)

Very sad, very well written story.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it. I think a lot of people agree on that assessement of McGee and Vance - I've read so many comments about people wanting to slap the smirk off McGee's face.

Oh, I'm right in line to slap that smug expression off McGoo's face! I can't really pinpoint the exact episode but it started somewhere in season5 that McGee acts like an ass with everything Tony... And I really don't like it. Could rant for hours about it LOL

This made my eyes sting and that takes a lot. Poor Tony feels such despair and burn out. I know he can't leave, but the thought that he might take that vacaton for a long while, well, that just hurts.

It's an excellent story, though, a very intimate portrait of how I think Tony feels sometimes.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I really hope Tony feels this way sometimes, because if he doesn't, then he's turning into a doormat without any sense of selfworth. He should get angry with them - especially McGee and Abby, who to me are the worst offenders. It's also no wonder that "Requiem" has so many tags in which Tony gets his thank you from Gibbs - it was awful that he didn't get one on the show.

Oh, I agree. I really think the show missed it's mark that there wasn't at least some thanks to Tony for what he did.
