After five days of being really, really sick, at about 9:00 last night, my mom and I decided that the ER was looking pretty nice.

So we went...long story short, they stuck a needle in me and did about a 2 hour transfer of intense steroids (to make the swelling in my throat go down), really hardcore antibiotics, and 2 litres of liquids. I actually slept last night for the first time in a week and I woke up feeling much, much better.

Now, I'm hopped up on Vicadin, steroids and antibiotics and I skipped the SAT this morning. I thought it would be a bad plan to take it, considering the state of things. But I can, at least, talk a little bit today.

The doctor at the ER said that the "thing" I felt in the back of my throat (it felt like I got something caught in there) was actually my uvula (that hangy downy thing). It had swollen so much that it was catching on the back of my tongue. That's intense.

There was a little boy in the curtained room next to us who had hit his head on a ceiling fan. He was so scared...but the doctor, as he was leaving said, "You're a trooper!" and to that, the little kid replied, "No. I'm not a trooper, I'm a Jedi!"

...It made my life.

So that's my story - that's why you haven't seen me all week. I'll be all better by Monday (I hope).

Can you say party???
