why am i not excitied?
it's the weekend. i have some time. i guess. okay this entry is totally pointless, i have nothing interesting to say. hell, i don't have anything to say. okay, well, maybe not.
i've been at school for four days and i feel like i've been in hell for a month. hell has that effect. i have a shitload of homework and it's the first weekend, i can't imagine what's going to happen in november, december (winter break - aaahhhhhhh) and january (before i leave - hehe)
last night i talked with a bunch of israelis. it was great, they talked to me in hebrew and i understood them (couldn't always answer back...but still, i wouldn't have been able to do that two months ago). when i told them i'd be in israel for four months they practically flipped out ("why are you going there for so long?" "you're so young!" "don't go on any buses.") it was strange because i'd think that they'd be excited for me to go, experience israel, spend lots of money and boost the economy, etc. but no. that's humans. one of the guys was a tour guide for NFTY summer trips. he studied in israel himself, but not on eie.
we have to do this thing for english where we make up a phrase for each letter of a word (the puritans did it to learn the alphabet) i really want to use israel, but at the same time it'd be totally fun to pick a random word out of the dictionary. although the illustration may be difficult. i really want to get some israeli music. not the folk crap everyone thinks of, but popular music. matt, i need your help. oh, p.s. i'm almost positive i can go to sicha - just have to squeeze the money out of my parents (or just find money and pay for it myself)
