So, the reason for my post proclaiming my permanency is 2 fold. One because I've been waiting for this day since I got laid off, knowing that I have an income coming in all the time, and two, and this is the big one :
6.6 TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Kitco recognizes the value of professional development and personal growth for employees. Therefore, Kitco encourages its employees who are interested in continuing education and job specific training to research these further and get approval from their supervisor/manager before signing up for the seminars or courses.
Kitco will grant $500.00/year for an employee who would like to attend a business related course or seminar that is not related to his/her present job, but can help his/her professional growth at Kitco. If an employee is interested he/she must request the training to his/her manager or supervisor and if approved will be setup by Human Resources.
As a few of you know, I've been wanting to take accounting courses for a long time. I finally found an online school that is accreditted, and accepted worldwide, and affordable. Now, I may not even have to pay for them from my own pocket. Work will cover most of it. And today during my review I actually mentioned it as one of my goals, as by next week I have to submit 3 professional goals I want to perform, an my supervisor said that this one was really good. So, it shouldn't be a problem getting her to approve this. I can't really think of 2 others though. Most of them are personal, but could be considered professional, kind of. I need help, folks, what are good professional goals?
Oh, and I will also have to take a class that all the investments team is taking, and that is email correspondence. Kyla thinks I only need the advanced, but I told her that I would prefer taking the intermediate to make sure all my internet communication etiquette is up to par. Shouldn't be a problem though, since she remembered everything from my original interview and tests, and said I was one of the more eloquent writers. Lots of praise today. I'm floating on cloud nine.
