If I were the breeze
the Windy City would relocate
I’d never leave your gaudy haircut alone

I’d fling hail and stagnant leaves
if only out of curious envy
and funnel waste into a funnel into a halo above your head

Weathermen in toupees all over town
would wonder “What’s with our wind chill?”
Be careful. I’d abduct their hairpieces and sweep them straight into your face

Soon enough you’d determine, these days,
the side walks just aren’t secure
stay inside, clean your hair, without a care for winter weather

Then I’d go away
Invisible breezes are nearly impossible to hold
You’d be in solitude with your scorching summer air
to destruct your merry hair
You’ll miss walking straight through me
