Ok, so here's what's been happening:
Matt and I ended up deciding on one of the condos (it was a pretty tough choice), we put in an offer for it, and it got accepted! :) Our closing date is the 31st. Which is the same day our lease ends. Which is exactly three weeks from today. Eep. So we've got to figure out how we're handling the packing and getting stuff out so we can clean and re-paint back to white so the apartment management wont rape us, and yet drive out to Madison on the 31st (very EARLY on the 31st) so we can sign our closing documents (read: sign our souls away), get our keys and move all our crap into our new place! It's going to be an interesting thing to try to juggle and arrange ... I wonder how long you can keep a moving van for ... we may need to pack all our stuff a few days early, clean and re-paint on the 30th, and then drive out early on the 31st with our stuff? Hm. Sounds plausible. I'm sure we'll figure something out.
On a more fun note - or at least a different kind of fun note - last weekend was awesome. :) This year the fifth of May wasn't Cinco de Mayo, it was Cinco de CLayo! That's right people, the fifth of CLAY. hehe. Steenis threw us a going away party at his mom's house who is absolutely crazy, but she let us use her house and awesomely huge yard, so we dealt with her. It was spectacular. Joe brought a bunch of delicious meats from his dad's butcher shop which was SO nice of him and tasted fantastic, and then he also cooked his family recipe lasagna for everybody which more or less melted in my mouth it was so good. Perhaps I should've been Italian so I could cook like that. :) Granted, my Serbian grandma can cook like crazy too, so I'll be happy with what I am. Hehe. But anyways, Steenis made a huge vat of potato salad, and they made bread, and probably other things too, but I can't remember ... oh, and Chris brought his keggerator with a keg of his homebrew (Matt didn't have any of his own left to share), so that was awesome too. We were all reminiscing and laughing and goofing around. It was so much fun. A couple out of town folk came into town for a little while, but didn't stay too long. It was good to see them though. Then it was just the lansing crew, and we ended up acting like fools out in the yard with a playground ball. :) I love my friends. Hilly, Rachel and I also got to have some much needed Hilly-Dana-Rachel time. I'm so jealous that Rachel is moving back to lansing for the summer - I wish I could be with them! But she'll be back in chicago soon enough, and then only 2 hours from me! So I'll at least get to see her pretty regularly. :) We'll just have to make Hilly come out and play. Fun times.
Sunday was pretty chill. We ended up making it into an early mother's day for Matt's mom. We grilled some delicious kabobs and spent the day there, then went and got ice cream. Mmm. :) I also got to steal away and spend some time with the Fowlers, so that was great. I miss those girls. I gave them their christmas/birthday/whatever present ... finally. Haha. I rule. This week has been great too - didn't do too much monday, grilled out with the neighbors on tuesday, E came down yesterday and we had lots of fun and watched spiderman3 for free which all in all was pretty good but had about a 5 minute section (or two) that made me want to kick whoever allowed that to be in it. Ugh. Today I get to see Kara and Echo, and I think we're barbecue-ing AGAIN. :) I loooove when it's warm enough to cook outside! Friday is ... undecided, but I have to work all evening. Saturday is Dan and Christina's wedding! Which I'm sure will be beautiful and fun ... and then booking it back to Lansing for Cody's party (Matt's cousin who is back from Iraq for two weeks), and then Mother's Day with MY mom on Sunday. *Whew* Life is crazy but fun lately. Apparantly we're trying to fit EVERYTHING in before we move away. :)
So yes. That's the general idea of my life as of late. Lots of food, fun, friends, and family. Pretty awesome, if you ask me. :)
I'll be sad to leave everyone behind. I know WI isn't that far, but I'm sure I'll see everyone even less than I see them now, which makes me sad. Hooray for the wonders of modern technology which makes it easy to stay in touch.
But no sob stories for me. I'm excited to move to Madison. It's going to be a GREAT place for us! Just a little odd to be away from everyone I love (besides Matt, obviously).
All in all, life is good.
