TOday I finished up watching the first three seasons of 90210, the original series. They graduated from HS this morning around 10 am. Funny thing, when I walked into the bathroom afterward and saw my reflection in the mirror, I was surprised, surely I'm not that old already?
I drove the kids down to the town where I went to HS and stopped along the way to visit my favorite thinking spot just outside of Bloomington. I carried the baby up the very steep hill to look out over the lake. Julian walked himself up the hill. He was fabulous! It was Serenity's first opportunity to witness the beauty. I nursed her up her...all she could think about was food.
Had a lovely time in my hometown. Showed Julian my HS, got a tour of my Granma's old house, that recently had a fire and was updated completely inside. It looks very loved now! The woman who lives there is clearly excited about the updates she was able to make with the insurance money she received from the fire. Sometimes, what looks like a curse, is actually a blessing in disguise. I was so happy to see the house be loved!
I spent at least half an hour visiting with an 87 year old neighbor who was like another grandparent to me all through my childhood. After I left, I saw yet another old neighbor/friend and visited for a moment with their family for a moment before driving on to visit my actual family.
Sometimes going back home is really nice.
