Home with Baby

We came home yesterday...yay!
At birth lil' miss weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 20.5 inches long.
She came out quite healthy...hooray!!!!
Her face has a nice shape, her head does too, and she has clear skin, not blotchy and her hair is pretty and you can see it!
I'm thrilled with her.
I was too exhausted to really appreciate her until Fri.
I had a spinal with this c-sect. I do not like spinals. My lips were numb, legs were tingly, my arms and hands were tingly. The anesthesiologist was not near as attentive as the one who took care of me when Julio was born.
After the surgery Lil' miss and I went back to our room so she could meet Grandma McC., After a bit, G-ma went to get Julio and Gramma B. I started feeling odd while she was away and by the time she came back, I was feeling really off.
She took Gramma and Julio home (after he chose her name, which I may share later..) OK, "Peaceful Elizabeth"...not exact, but neither is "Julio". Anyhow, while G-ma (my Mom) was away, my condition deteriorated. I think she was one her way to my great-uncle's wake when I called her cell and asked her to come back and be with me.
When the staff got around to using another machine to check me (an ultrasound, rather than just bp, and pulse), they found blood throughout my peritoneal cavity. I went in for surgery about four hours later, 12 hours from the original surgery.
I was not all there. I kept reassuring Mom that I would be fine, but I made sure to call my Dad and brother and sister and let them know I loved them.
When I came out from under the anesthesia around 2am, I asked for my Mom and a hug. I got the hug.
I also talked way too much (go figure), the nurses seemed ok with it.

We did not have any visitors on Thurs while I recovered (oh, my sis-in-law came back with my Mom in the eve and stayed with her through my surgery and then took her home o my brother's house to spend the night, I'm so glad she had someone with her).
On Fri, we bagan calling close friends and family and inviting them to stop by. It was nice that ppl kept their visits short, as my big rest (other than while under the general anesthesia) was 45 min.

My sister's son has been sick, so she has not yet seen the baby, my brother is working and going to school full time, so has not had time to come out, though he did offer blood if I needed a transfusion (which I did need, but they could not use his like that).
I am delighted that I have had two two hour naps since returning home yesterday. I may stretch it to a three hour nap tonight. Won't that be nice?
Gramma B has been a wonderful help with the laundry and the boys, and last night she stayed up all night with me and the baby.
We are so blessed!
My feet are swelling from sitting too long, so I'm off. Thank you for your well wishes and prayers. I know they helped.
B
