Name: Beginning
Pairing: Yonghwa/Seohyun
Rating: G
Genre: Romance
Yonghwa knows what the September rain feels like when it pours continuously one steel-cold evening. He knows that the coldness goes away almost at once just from the warmth of an enclosed hand on his as they make their way laughing across the wet night streets of Busan.
He knows what the dying rays of sunlight feels like on his skin. And he knows how the sunset becomes more beautiful when someone leans her head on his shoulder, their bare feet drawing circles on the sand, as they watch the sky bleed a thousand shade of crimson.
Yonghwa knows the feeling of settling tranquility under the faint light of the pale, white moon. He knows that the thousand glimmering gems scattered on the night sky pale in comparison to the twinkle he sees on those inky dark pools as he sings her a song with his faithful guitar.
He knows the feeling of simple contentment watching cherry blossoms shed their petals in summer. And he knows for a fact that the graceful falling is none greater than seeing the said flowers flutter back into the air as she twirls and dances all over the park with her arms up in the air as she smiles cheerfully at him.
Yonghwa knows how he will never have the chance to feel all these again the day she broke his heart. He knows the pains of a lost love, of how a simple line tore his world apart, and how saying goodbye to his hometown would mean putting an end to all the happy memories.
But what Yonghwa didn't know is the possibility of feeling the same emotions again even with the absence of the rain, the sunset, the moon, and the cherry blossoms. He didn't know how it happened that the feelings came in a sudden rush as he marveled on the innocence and purity of this certain lovable girl as she offers him her treasured sweet potato.
And he smiles upon understanding, as he starts to feel the familiar feeling of how it is like to fall in love again.
