WTF, Republicans?

The president gives you just about everything you want, but you won't agree to doing away with some tax deductions and closing some tax loopholes for your corporate jets so you know, so we can actually pay down the debt?

The scary thing is that there's quite a few Republicans, especially in the House, actually want these negotiations to fail and will not vote to raise the debt ceiling no matter what the president offers. Despite dire warnings from just about any responsible economist (whether conservative or liberal), the Treasury, the Federal Reserve, ratings agencies, etc. they think it will be just fine for the US to go into default:

Reince Priebus - head of the Republican National Committee - saying on ABC’s Topline today that the August 2nd debt limit deadline is “not the end of the world.” - okay, I grant that an asteroid isn't going to hit the earth in the next few days... probably.

Louie Gohmert - (R-IL) - Can't be too serious because the president has a birthday party on August 3, one day after debt ceiling deadline. Dude, his birthday's always on the same day

Joe Walsh - (R-IL) - "President Obama, quit lying," Walsh said. "You know darn well that if Aug. 2 comes and goes, there's plenty of money to pay off our debt and cover all of our Social Security obligations."

Michelle Bachman - (R-MN) - ... believes it’s all a hoax.

Tim Pawlenty - Presidential Candidate for Republican Party - told an Iowa crowd, “I hope and pray and believe they should not raise the debt ceiling.”

Well we can always pray the debt away with maybe presidential candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry!

If you have a Republican congressman, please give them a piece of your mind that playing Russian roulette with the nation's economy is not cool.
