Oh, Italian Hotel, you rock for having the internet. I'm back in Todi after three days in florence. Florence was wonderful, positively filled with art. i saw lots of churches and so much amazing art. we went to the Uffizi gallery, which has basically every major painting not owned by the louvre. One of them, a baroque piece, featured Baccus, the god of wine and partying, a naked woman, and a cherub who was peeking up from between her legs with a grin, an expression of extreme satsifaction, and his tongue hanging out. Make what you will of it.

I also went to the sculpture museum and saw Donatello's David and St. George, among others. I saw the Duomo from the Belvedere (if anyone gets this reference, then you own) and went inside it, and climbed halfway up the dome. At the first balcony, inside the church, it was so freakishly high and narrow and the huge crack in the dome was so huge that i had a total flip out and went back down the up stairs. The baptistry doors outside were spectacular. there was pinky touching, both of them and St. George. Allison's hot italian friend Eday showed us around. I am in love with Eday. he has long curly hair, wears bright blue pants, and knows shitloads about art. He's getting a PhD and studies Donatello. Perfect much?

I also went to the Serial Killer Musuem and saw waxworks of Manson, Ed Gein, Albert Fish and John Wayne Gacy, among others. We used our ghetto International Student ID cards to get a discount there, the only place that gave discounts to americans. (Everyone else said you had to be in the european union, and to hell with americans). I can't wait to put up pictures, specifically of Eday and his fabulous pants.

today i helped restore a 400 year old painting. hells yes, y'all, hells yes. Also, bought kickass italian yarn in florence, rode lots of trains, and plan to buy shoes this evening. Also, half a glass of wine makes me tipsy. Yes, i am a lightweight.
