The S'pore Marathon
Muz have been umpteen weeks since I last posted anything here. I muz say God has been gracious to me all these months; just a year ago, I could shake legs in the factory cos there's not much biz. Now I have enuff biz to keep me away from the LJ *LOL*
Having spent most of my time in JB, home coming is always something worth looking forward to. Sometimes, I feel like a tourist back here in S'pore. Just last week, wifey and I decided to check out the Food Republic at Wisma Atria. Wow, so much has changed along the entire Orchard Road :) Walking into Wisma Atria is also a trip down memory lane for me - exactly 15 years ago just prior to Christmas, my buddy/roommate/bf etc did our Christmas shopping for another here. So when the piped in music blared The Carpenter's Merry Christmas Darling, I was kinda like a little teary eyed. Ah, those hostel/campus days when we were relatively carefree... when your only worry is doing well for the exams..... when happiness and contentment is waking up to find your bf lying next to you...
Well, those days are over for sure. What I have with me however are fond memories of those good old days. Ya know, it's really a blessing to be able to love and be loved... Best thing is, we're still good pals and we're both gonna be down at The Esplanade for the S'pore Marathon :)
Will be running with this nice bunch of people from FCBC. Most are doing the full marathon. I have great admiration for them. It really takes lots of guts, sweat and determination to complete such endurance race. I can't do it due perhaps to my bow legs which causes my hips to hurt after about 14km. I'd settle for the 21km instead ;p And when I'm through, I'd perhaps go over to the finishing line to cheer the wheelies :)
