I consider myself quite fortunate to have been to many places around the world. Spring in Japan is romantic; winter in the lake districts, England, conjures scenes of Christmas. Summer in Beijing is... *pengz* Ironically, I've never experienced what it is like to travel in the autumn season.

Ever since I saw the movie Baby Boom starring Diane Keaton and A River Runs Through It directed by Robert Redford, I've always wanted to experience the autumn foliage in the quiet countryside in either New England or Montana where the 2 movies were filmed. I'd dream of booking a room in some bed and breakfast joint, then take many a quiet walks through the woods where the maple trees would be resplendent in their finest glory before they shed every single one of their leaves... and perhaps sit by a gentle stream where crystal clear water trickles by... And I'd ponder at God's magnificent works in nature.

In a week from now, Seaweeds and I will get to experience perhaps some semblance of autumn albeit it'll be in Beijing and Hangzhou instead. Not quite New England nor Montana but still I guess every place on this planet would have something unique to offer.

Everyone has his favorite season.I wonder what it reveals when a person considers autumn his favorite time of the year.. And I'm now reminded of this song which is so apt at the moment...

When October Goes
Music by Barry Manilow   Lyrics by Johnny Mercer

And when October goes
The snow begins to fly
Above the smokey roofs
I watch the planes go by
The children running home
Beneath a twilight sky
Oh, for the fun of them
When I was one of them

And when October goes
The same old dream appears
And you are in my arms
To share the happy years
I turn my head away
To hide the helpless tears
Oh how I hate to see October go

I should be over it now I know
It doesn't matter much
How old I grow
I hate to see October go ...
