Closing Announcement
Bamboo Feathers is closing. We will release the final Demian Syndrome chapter within a few weeks(?), and that will be our last release. Email me at kalendel@gmail.com for anything -- I probably won't see LJ messages.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, considering our lack of activity. I was the old admin at the group Storm in Heaven. After that closed, I decided I wanted to keep scanlating, so it made sense to pick up some of SiH's unfinished projects. BF was started to finish Asterisk and Jinjuu Houretsuden. When we reached that goal, we decided to finish off some more old SiH projects -- Koori, Pure Blood -- and eventually picked up Yami no Kodou and Demian Syndrome. All were old SiH projects. You might not know this, but I started a side-group called The End to finish off two more SiH projects -- Vartrag Tale and Tonari no Megane-kun (I've since retired from The End). Finally, I started LSD to do Shikou Shounen, a manga we'd planned at SiH but never got to. We're now also working on Neko Mix Genkitan Toraji, another SiH orphan.
The point: I've done a lot over the last decade to complete dropped projects, because I really hate seeing things left hanging. But both YnK and Moon Trick have very slow (or non-existent) plots with no end in sight, and during the wait for new vols to come out, I just lost all interest and became focused on my projects at LSD. And so, despite hating to leave things hanging, I've decided it's only fair to be honest... I'm never going to come back around to work on YnK or MT. Not unless they finish, and I know exactly what I'm in for.
With that in mind, the fate of our projects:
G-Defend: The GD team has basically been working on their own for a while now. They started their own group, MTO Company, to continue it (website pending!). If anyone would like to proofread or beta read this series, they'd love the help! Just be a native-level English speaker with good grammar and an eye for detail. Email me and I'll put you in touch!
Moon Trick: MTO Company will take this over. There's still just volume 9 out in Japan (4 chapters). If anyone would like to work on Moon Trick (proofreader or JPN->ENG TL) please contact me and I'll put you in touch.
Yami no Kodou: This is dropped. We did 21 (!!) volumes, so I don't even feel guilty about it. There are just 2 volumes left now (v27-28, ongoing), so it's a very doable project if another group wants to take it. I can provide raws, but that's it. Also, my translation glossary (the terms I used to TL each fantasy word), if you'd like to keep it consistent. Email me if your group is interested or you'd like to start a new group to do it.
Gin no Kutsu: This was a mistake to start; the TL wanted to do it, and then she left right away. I haven't seen any interest in it, but I have raws if anyone wants it.
