So I hope everyone's Eid (at least for those who are celebrating) is going splendid.. mine's been bittersweet and thankfully, it's been more sweet than bitter, which is always a good thing. But we're taking it day by day, see where it takes us.
For those of you who've called, texted, YM-ed, MSN-ed, Blogger-ed, LJ-ed, Facebook-wall-ed me about my mom...thank you so so much for all your support. It really does mean a lot to me, to us, during this time. I cannot thank you enough. I really really can't.
Yesterday was an interestingly eventful day though...a day filled with reminiscing and laughter...I went to
jaannonymous and
rocksalt's open house at Lakeside with
m_i_a_s_m_a and we had a blast...took me a while to actually arrive at
jaannonymous and
rocksalt's house..hahaha..more like 7 years but it's ok..better late than never I say...
The food was AWESOME. The company was awesome. The house was awesome! Their shower door is MUCHO AWESOME! LOL..It was just full of awesomeness but I had to leave suddenly at around 5pm...
*backstory first*
Two nights before, I accidentally bumped into Umar when I was with my dad at the hospital. We were in the lift and I had not realized that he was standing behind me until he called out my name. It was surprising since it's been more than 2 years since we'd last seen each other...so between the first floor and the third floor, I managed to squeeze in my mom's situation and her ward number.
We grew up together as kids; neighbours at Block 127, Tampines St 11. Our moms were best friends while we were growing up but because of the radical turns that our lives have taken, they've lost touch over the years..
What I didn't realize was that yesterday, while I was at Yana's house, a bunch of them were already making their way to the hospital. So when I found out, I hurriedly rushed back and it was just...
It was a really really nice surprise to see everyone there. It meant the world to me. It MEANS the world to me. It made me smile... :) And Umar came with his mom and it was nice to see my mom and her finally rekindling the friendship that was lost for a while.
I just can't express just how nice it felt. And how touched I was...I've been looking for a reason to smile for a while now..I'm glad that I finally did find one last night.
:)
=============================
I was in the car a few nights ago when I overheard a VERY familiar song on the radio.
Familiar cause I'm a psycho-BSB fan who's downloaded every unreleased track and has listened to each one of them over and over again, and yet, sticking to my story that yes, I AM normal...but I digress.
So, on the radio, came I'll Never Find Someone Like You. A really pretty song that was, ah, unfortunately tainted by Nick's squeaky pre-semi-broken voice. I mean, who am I kidding? Nick Carter's voice has never really broken, if you know what I mean.
Anyways, yes, so I was familiar with the BSB version, which of course, has never seen the light of day on the airwaves. However, the song on the radio was a different version. Ah, a better version. After
m_i_a_s_m_a resourcefully searched for it, we discovered that it was originally sung by Keith Martin.
ETA: Though, the accompanying video to Nick's part is extremely interesting..And the EFF is up with that red and black costume? It's like they're MCR on crack or something..it's whacked. And listening to Brian sing, "It's not just a sehxuhal thaang" seems so wrong now that he's Mr Holy.

Keith Martin's I'll Never Find Someone Like You (Cause I guess some people do not like sharing music videos)

Gym Class Heroes' new album? I kinda dig it.
I just need to find The Dey's album now...anyone kind enough to nudge me the right way?
