Comment and I'll give you a letter. In your journal, list 10 of your favorite songs that begin with that letter.
aivlis88 gave me the letter G.
This is my list:
1. Verdena - Glamodrama
The best Italian alternative band, and that's one of the best song they've ever made. Angry and hard and painful. Perfect.
Demone..Demone, come cadi bene...un bolide.
2. Green Day - Good riddance (time of your life)
Geez, that's difficult. Soo many memories, so many nights spent listening to that song. And that guitar intro, God. I love that intro.
So take the photographs and still frames in your mind
hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
[..]for what it's worth it was worth all the time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life.
(another line and I would be quoting the whole song lol)
3. De Gregori - Generale
Well, that's history. I've probably known this song since I was a kid, when my dad would listen to it ALL THE TIME, he was pretty obsessed actually*. And I always liked it, even when I didn't know what it really meant (and that's a shame, really, cause this surely has one of the most beautiful Italian lyrics of all time)
Generale queste cinque stelle,
4. Samuele Bersani - Giudizi universali
Ok, too much Italian music xD
Actually I don't like it THAT much, but letter G man, that was difficult lol
Anyway, there are no words that can express how this song touches me. Really touches me. Bittersweet all the way.
5. Dresden Dolls - Girl anachronism
Not my favourite song by Dresden Dolls, but stil.. a damn good song.
I don't necessarily believe there is a cure for this
so I might join your century but only as a doubtful guest
6. Evanescence - Going under
Yeah, angry hopelessness. I soo like it.
Don't want your hand this time - I'll save myself.
Maybe I'll wake up for once
Not tormented daily defeated by you
Just when I thought I'd reached the bottom
I'm dying again
7. Ingrid Michaelson - Glass
Ha. The powers of TV shows like Grey's Anatomy. They force you to listen to sad depressing songs AND they make you like them!
And now we pass and just like glass
I see through you, you see through me like I'm not there.
8. HIM - Gone with the sin
Dark and inviting sensuality. Oh yes, please. And seriously,
this is the singer, people. Let me
drool just for a moment.
I adore the dispair in your eyes
I worship your lips once red as wine
And I crave for your scent sending shivers down my spine
9. Black Stones - Glamorous sky
Just one word:
NANA.
I won't quote anything cause I don't actually know japanese, lol. Something tells me that it's not much of a meaningful song, but it's Nana and it's the first song by Blast that I heard, so it's ok.
10. Dashboard Confessional - Ghost of a good thing
Well, I don't like DC very much. But this is nice and depressing, so why not?
Maybe it’s love, but it’s like you said
“love is like a role that we play”
Uhm. So... yeah. I'm done with the rambling.
