He looked at you like you were nuts,
“What did you just say?” he asked you. You felt your heart break just a little at his words, he didn‘t seem all that happy.
“I love you,” you repeated yourself. You felt your shred of hope that he‘d somehow, miraculously, return your feelings, even just a little, float away into nothingness. No, how could he love you back, after all, you were the reason his girlfriend was now gone forever. Because of a stupid mistake you‘d killed your best friend and his girlfriend and shattered his world. He hated you. But you‘d always loved him, ever since you met him for the first time.
He stared at you with blank eyes, kind of like he was staring through you, like you weren‘t even there. He stood completely still, his hair blowing in the wind the only part of him that moved.
“I-I‘m sorry, I know you hate me for killing her. I get it, I hate myself too. I‘m gonna go, and don‘t worry, you won‘t ever see or hear from me again.” You turned to walk away. It was so cold outside that your tears froze on your cheeks as they began to fall. You‘d taken two steps away from her grave when you felt his arms wrap around you from behind.
“I don‘t hate you,” he whispered in your ear. You held your breath as you waited for him to say more.
“I could never hate you,” he whispered before turning you around to face him, “I made a promise to her once, a long time ago. She made me promise that if she‘d ever die before me, and her best friend had no-one in her life, that I‘d take care of her. See, she knew something you didn‘t.” He said gently, one arm around your waist and his other hand stroking your cheek.
“She knew you liked me, that you always had, but what you didn‘t know and she did, was that I felt the same way about you. Did I love her? Yes I did, very much. But I loved you too.” He continued, a faint smile on his lips.
“R-really?” Was all you managed to say. He answered you with a sweet and gentle kiss, one that said everything that needed to be said. He pulled back and looked straight into your eyes and said the six words you wanted so desperately to hear.
“I love you and I forgive you.”
A/N: In my head the guy was Hangeng from Super Junior and a girl. But feel free to imagine this to be whoever.
P.S. This is fail I know, but Hide and Seek does something to my soul when I listen to it. This time, it just had to come out...
