So apparently there’s a bit of controversy over the fact that Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone sounds a lot like Beyonce’s Halo. I always wondered what was so familiar about Halo, I guess that would be it.
Coincidence? Plagiarism? Not exactly. Apparently Ryan Tedder, the guy from that totally shittastic OneRepublic, co-wrote both of them around the same time. He plagiarized himself. Beyonce’s just happened to be released sooner. Now Kelly is really pissed off.
I really like Already Gone but I kind of love Halo. What can I say, I’ve been enjoying some of Beyonce’s latest. But the lyrics to Kelly’s song are a hell of a lot better, more relatable and more moving than Beyonce. I wonder if Tedder only did the music or worked on all of it.
