This was one of those posts where I wrote it and promptly forgot to post it.
So the weekend was pretty awesome. Not Friday, still don’t understand what happened there. Skippable: I haven’t talked to Erica (and I won’t unless she contacts me) but Carrie said that Erica doesn’t seem to have any idea what went on. I’d like to hear her side, but it doesn’t seem right that I need to seek it out. Carrie wants to invite her to Sam Ronson, which makes sense since I think she’ll want to go, but I really don’t want drama ruining the SamRo experience. I have a feeling there’s like a 50/50 chance of her showing up with Kat and Michelle. Because she’s a glutton for punishment. [ETA: Carrie now says that Erica said she “gets it now”, but is too chicken to contact me. *sigh*]
Anyway, Saturday was BRILLIANT. I was really tired and pissy so it was tough to drag myself out of the house, but I’m so glad I did. Nancy and Graham’s party was super fun as usual. I love how their shindigs are so different than most of the ones I go to, they actually involve a lot of intellectual (albeit very silly) conversation. And for reals, I need to buy me Apples to Apples.
I got dressed there for the Lumberjaques Fete. Nancy loaned me her rainbow suspenders and they were a huge hit later at the party. And I got some more giant teddy bear psuedo sex in. I likes what I like.
Amanda and I went over to the Artery and I was the hundredth person through the door, which really excited the doorman. The vast majority of people had really dressed up. Lots of plaid and toques. This is why I like events in the ‘indie’ scene in Edmonton. People generally commit and try hard to celebrate the theme. There was funny Lumberjack-related art all around the place. I guess you had to be there, but it was really enjoyable.
I hope the same people throw another event like it. I really do.
Amanda and I went to walk Jessica home (because she was drunker than us and we were both a bit worried, considering the area). Then we got lost. This is so the epitome of the kind of things I do. “Here, we’ll take you home. Uh oh. I don’t know where I am. Take us home!”. Jessica had to walk us to the bridge so that I could get my bearings again and then we made her come with us. It was kind of an adventure, I enjoyed myself. Is that how it went, Jessica? Something like that.
We stayed up really late watching A Double Shot at Love and making fun of it. So easy! Then being confused by Terminator or Terminator 2. I put on The House Bunny and was scoffed at, but Amanda laughed her ass off and Jessica was giggling before she fell asleep. Amanda left early in the morning and after some sleep, Jessica and I sat in bed for like 3 hours talking about exes. That’s how lesbians have fun. Don’t judge.
And now it’s almost the new weekend. With the SamRo. Woo!
Also, I FINALLY got around to uploading some new icons. Pretty.
