this time next week we will be in atlanta, getting ready to fly to new york the next morning!!!!! and then 6 days from then i will be in tyler, tx doing the pine cove thing again!! i keep reminding myself that first and foremost for both trips that they are to bring God's love to all kinds of people, whether they be in a breakfast diner in nyc or on the deck at the woods camp, all the while giving all the praise and glory to God. in my excitement, i keep reminding myself that the purpose of new york is a mission trip, along with some extra events and sight-seeing that i am extremely grateful for. knowing that maybe, just maybe, we can look back and say we had the smallest part in helping this church get started is also really cool. and not so we can get the recognition, but that it can be another reminder of God's work in that city through a group of college students from the university of alabama.
preparing for camp this summer evokes so many different feelings. familiarity is a nice feeling to have this time around, but at the same time, i do realize things will still be new and different in some ways, and that is exciting too. also, i am ecstatic to be sharing the summer with some incredible people who are already great friends...i can't wait to see what God is going to do through all of the staff and families this summer.
